<p>This is one of my favorite birds&#8211;partly because of their unique and classic pose of pointing down the trunk of a tree and then arching their head and neck backwards&#8212;which is not what this nuthatch is doing.  But this bird is in good light with a great background.  I took about 15 shots before he moved with this being the best by far.  The others have his head in an odd position where his eye isn&#8217;t clear or his beak is too far into the hollow.  I would have benefited from grabbing an extender to get more telephoto.   This is a very tiny bird that was about 70 feet from my lens.  </p>
