<p>I didn&#8217;t expect to see this fellow when I went down the steps to the dock, but there he was standing in the shallow water doing his classic head turns to the right and left.  Fortunately he never looked up.  I like this pose because it&#8217;s so different from how I normally see Cormorants, with their head angled up, cruising through the water.  </p>
