Another Bald Eagle

Posted on February 16, 2021February 27, 2021

Actually, this might be the same bald eagle as my last posting, but this time I captured it on a wet, rainy day sitting in a pine tree across the creek from us. Another overcast day so not much light on the sensor. I did use a slower shutter speed so the ISO is a bit lower too, but I’m still not getting the super crisp image I’m looking for. I’m going to remove the extender, so that I’m back to F11, versus F16, on my 800mm lens.

I like how the eagle’s head shows the wet, clumpy feathers. I believe it’s just resting and not fishing. We’ve gotten to see an eagle almost weekly, sometimes multiple days in a row. Their roost must be nearby. They are just amazing creatures.

About

I’m learning to see birds and their movement through the lens of a camera. I’m a new photographer surprised at the richness of detail the pictures provide. How I see and watch birds has changed forever.
