Double Crested Cormorant

Double Crested Cormorant

Posted on September 2, 2020January 23, 2021

I didn’t expect to see this fellow when I went down the steps to the dock, but there he was standing in the shallow water doing his classic head turns to the right and left. Fortunately he never looked up. I like this pose because it’s so different from how I normally see Cormorants, with their head angled up, cruising through the water.

Here’s his close up.

About

I’m learning to see birds and their movement through the lens of a camera. I’m a new photographer surprised at the richness of detail the pictures provide. How I see and watch birds has changed forever.
