Blue Jay

Posted on July 22, 2020January 23, 2021

Blue jays are intelligent, beautiful bullies. I took this photo because the light was so great. This isn’t a favorite picture of mine because it reminds me too much of a greeting card. It’s a pretty bird picture showing classic, but not very interesting behavior.

Which is too bad, because Cornell Lab describes a lot of interesting blue jay behavior such as the fact that the higher the crest, the higher the bird’s aggression level. That makes this bird quite content.

About

I’m learning to see birds and their movement through the lens of a camera. I’m a new photographer surprised at the richness of detail the pictures provide. How I see and watch birds has changed forever.
